Buena Vista is a welcoming, family-friendly, multicultural, multigenerational community of faith open to persons of any age, abilities, physical conditions, race, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic class, or place on one’s spiritual journey. We invite you to join us just as you are.
Our worship is Christ-centered and biblically grounded in a theology that embraces prayer, service, radical hospitality, and social justice. Sermons and children’s messages are based on the lectionary texts for the week, and our music combines traditional hymns, contemporary music, and jazz.
The sanctuary is intentionally set up to allow worship “in the round,” allowing us to see each other’s faces and affirming our belief that God is present in each of us, not just in the pastors and leaders. A table in the middle is both the literal and figurative center of our worship: As the place where the Lord’s Supper is served, it unites us to God and to each other through Jesus Christ.
On the first Sunday of the month we celebrate Holy Communion and share memorial remembrances for those who passed in that month.
